Leave the borders of the USA and you'd see that this has been a trend in Asia for at least a decade or more. It's not about masculinity or femininity there. It's about keeping warm in Fall/Winter. Why does it have to be so in the USA? Are men so fearful of their own sexualities and masculinity? It appears frighteningly and indeed comically so. These are long-johns in a different material/style nothing more. Nothing to get bent out of shape over. People should cover them up though.
