holy crap. For this style/genre and the happy sound..... You wouldn't find a better backing track. If you play in the aeolian position it just sounds so good.

@PhilippineCreation I think the way to look at it is, what sort of sound are you looking for. What I mean is what emotion do you want. If you want happy and upbeat, I would try Ionian. If you want sad and serious maybe go for aeolian. If you know your pentatonic well, try adding in some "mode" notes to spice up what you already have. Listen to players that specialize in certain modes then borrow some of those ideas.
