Face to Face with Smart Meters

Starting as soon as this summer the BC government is going to put a powerful wireless transmitter ON YOUR HOUSE. At a cost of One Billion Dollars. For no good reason.
We talk to Walt McGinnis about the dangers of all wireless technology -- including the ability of Hydro and other hackers to invade your privacy by reading your meter output -- which will be linked to ALL of your electrical devices -- and data mining your usage habits. This will allow Hydro to bill you based on peak or low times and it will allow marketers to target you based on your data.
They also discuss the intentional dismantling of BC Hydro, the lack of public consultation and education and, most important, the health impact of EMR on living organisms.

Before the smart meter went on my house, the cats (three) used to sleep on my bed which is only some three meters (11 feet) away form the problem. Now, you can't drag them onto it and if you do, they turn around and leave - what do they know that I don't?

Smart meters are going to be used against you !!!. They are going to establish a baseline of electrical usage per household !!!. Then they will start mandating drastic reductions of the home's allowable energy use. It is very similar to the methods that the governments used to steal away all of the fishing rights from all small boat commercial fishermen. Every few years they would keep doing 40%, 50% or 60% reductions of our days at sea, and catch limits. now we are alloted 0% catch,+ 0 DAS.
