The high noise floor seem to be normal for the Jackson II because the AGC is always wide open. My J2 has the same noise floor while other radios have nearly zero. But nice to see that the band is now more open! 73s!

Indeed Ralf, when the radio is tuned the s-meter almost always has more noise. This one is a standard one, except the "switch" for other bands. 897d and 857d have s1 to s2 here and the Jacko always as seen here or a little more. How is your Jacko II?? Still going well. 73s Simon

Hi Caine, yes these days there is more noise here. There is some building nearby and since this arrived the noise is more, there must be something left running and it makes a mess indeed.. When mobile all ok, and indeed with gear with DSP's its all gone, just the CB stuff gets it the worst. Regards Simon

Spoke to germany this weekend on usb, Also 13div stations booming in on eu40 even on my mobile fm only radio + stinger antenna.

Hi Simon! My Kucha Jacko is doing his job very well. Use it mainly for local talk. But the s-meter is not very useful to give a report for weak stations :-(.
