@Doomsday2060 NEVER stop talking about Concorde! I was never lucky enough to fly on her but I did fly 4,000 miles to be at Heathrow for her last week. I will never stop talking about that day. She is a part of history we must never forget!
and your story is certainly a very unique history! :)

BRITISH airways, best country, best airline. Love other countries but Britain is the best.

@Doomsday2060 I never reply to 1 year old posts, but since you made a bet that someone should restore a Concorde a year ago, you will maybe see this watch?v=13vS64zBI9s
Now it's only to see if they ever will be allowed to let it fly.

Did that happen before or after 9/11?

You heard wrong on both cases.
The only Concorde left with fluid-transfer capability is F-BTSD, and even then she's badly suffering from internal tanking corrosion.
As far as the concrete thing goes, some was put in the engine casing of one to act as a weight balance, but none was put within the actual ships themselves. Also, the only reason any were "cut up" is for transport to their final places, all were reassembled, though some superficially. G-BOAD now has a "fake" nose.

its like a bird they should get rid of all the fat ones and just start making this

@flyingboats21 this is getting added to my favourites :)

I bet you that you will fly on Concorde someday.
It will get to the point when the plane is so historic and legendary that it will only take a couple of billionaires to invest in a restoration scheme...
I heard some are kept in near airworthy condition, whereas others have been cut up and filled with concrete?
So you never know.
When I was about 6 or 7, I flew in Concorde from Heathrow to the Air Tattoo airshow... It was only a 20 minute flight and we didn't go supersonic, but that doesn't matter
I can remember little bits and pieces of it but at the time I didn't understand the importance and uniqueness of the plane.
You are all probably not interested about that, but if you have flown in Concorde you just feel like you have to tell everyone about it - I can't help it.
You'd think I was the bloody pilot.

@Doomsday2060 One of my biggest regrets in not having a flight in Concorde, it was a beautiful aircraft. There's not many planes that caught the public imagination in the same way that Concorde did. Hopefully somebody will get one back to flying condition and get it back in the sky where it belongs.

Those were the day's. Concorde is one very special lady and I have been very fortunate to have flown on Concorde (G-BOAG) LHR -JFK in 1997.
I have been to visit AC the one shown on your vid a couple of times in Manchester and was there a couple of weeks ago seeing her in her shiny new hanger!
Thanks for uploading this.

It was an incredibly graceful plane - she was a real classy bird! You were very fortunate to have flown on her before her premature demise. I was lucky enough to see her fly in to Manchester on her last ever flight. The new hangar is looking good. Nice to see the Trident there too, another classic plane.

I loved that balcony in the terminal. I was so disappointed when they closed it off. Bastards!

Yeah it was a great facility. You had excellent views from up there. Aaah, the good old days when airports were AIRPORTS and not just shopping centres with airbridges attached
