We are seeing many 99-08 Gm Electrical issues. We are solving and diagnosing these issues. Certain mechanics are blaming aftermarket remote starts etc. if they happen to be in the vehicle. WAKE UP !! GM HAS A PROBLEM. THESE PROBLEMS are HAPPENING WHETHER AFTERMARKET Electronics are installed in the vehicle OR NOT! We know to diagnose and we will fix these cars.

I own a 2003 Chevy Impala. I purchased this car in Sept. of 2005. 3 days after we purchased the car, the Security light came on. 5 days later, my car wouldn't start. My radio would come on, but my car wouldn't even roll over. It took me 15 to 20 mins. to mess with the keys to try to start it. My husband is a certified Mechanic and he couldn't find out what was wrong with this. We even took it to a dealership and they said that it could be 3 of the things. To this day, my car still won't start when the security light comes on. I have NEVER owned a vehicle that had problems with starting

On December 1,2007 the security light on my 2003 Chevy Impala began coming on intermittently. When I took it in to have it checked it wouldn't come on. Shortly after the security light started coming on (the security light never stayed on steady)my power door locks quit working. My husband replaced the fuse and they would work for a few days and then quit again. On May 9,2008 I drove my Impala about 25 miles from my home, turned off the engine and went into a store for about 15 minutes. When I came out my car started but my radio read LOCKED. It then went off and never happened again. Later that day I was in and out of stores and everytime it started and was running just fine until I went somewhere and left it parked for about 45 minutes. When I came out it wouldn't start. I turned the key and my radio would come on and my CHECK ENGINE light would come on. I tried about 3 times and then it started. I went to the grocery store and when I came out it once again wouldn't start. My radio would come on and my CHECK ENGINE light would come on. After a few more tries it started. I took my groceries home, never turning off my engine and then drove my car straight to BIG JOHN'S AUTO REPAIR. On May 17, 2008 I drove about 10 miles from my house and turned off my engine for about an hour and when I tried to leave, big surprise, my car wouldn't start. Afraid of being stranded somewhere I was very leary of driving it.

Many GM vehicles are experiencing PassLock II system failures. I own a 2003 Chevy Impala and have had a lot of trouble with the car not starting and the security light coming on. These events seem random for the past 2 years. I did not take this car to a GM certified dealer because I don't feel like being taken to the cleaners. What I did is very unusual, but I tore the dash apart and looked at their PassLock II system myself. I am very experienced in electronics, engine management controls and software. Eventually, I removed the ignition switch and really did a detailed investigation. What I found is that GM completely under-designed the system.
