Wish it was better quality :(

Incredible first section: sparkling, clear, effortless.
Second section is very exaggerated and loses much of its forward momentum. Typical of Pogorelich to be a genius and a completely ego nut at the same time. There is not tempo change, btw, between both sections, though the second section is often played a bit slower. This is because of the tenuto character, which meant slower to both Chopin and Brahms, who often used various Italian terms incorrectly.

totally heard this from the strange case of angelica

@uhartchristian Pogorelich was chosen to advance to the next round, not as the winner of the competition lol.

他的演奏功力有多深厚..
這樣子說好了,若要完好彈此奏鳴曲需要100分的功力,
那pogorelich這樣刻意內斂的演奏法大概有好幾倍的演奏
功力!

and how do you know what the composer's intention was?

Pogorelich, one day performs perfectly, and one day makes a disaster..:-) a strange genius.-)
This just confirms my certainty that Pogorelich is one of the greatest pianists and MUSICIANS who ever lived.
