@mrsthorn666 ...978-3440097809) by Dr. Dorit U. Feddersen-Petersen for ruther reading. As for your instinct-driven-argument: you DO know that humans have something called the "limbic system", don´t you? There are plenty of studies showing that we humans are not so different from the "wild" animals as we pretend to be. But hey! There IS a difference. When dogs are filmed they act like dogs, when humans know that they are been filmed they act like clowns...;-) No offense intended!

I love goldens i have one
Beautiful dogs ! We have tried to get our 6 year old male dog with another bitch, but every time she has refused. Is it that she is not on heat, or is our male dog too old ? Cos he's tried to do it with a neutered female (his new girlfriend) but he didn't mount again ! Any suggestions ? :)

@startopsghs Thanks! If the female refuses she has her reasons, I would not force anything. Normally dogs know quite well what they do, if the female and the male don´t "match" chances are high that they won´t mate voluntarily even if the female is in heat. I don´t think your male is too old. The female beeing neutered does not matter for the male. Do you already know what to do with/how to feed/where to put the puppies? If yes you could look for another female who is in heat.
