@me373 thanks very much for the info. I am putting in a 4x4 section of tile for a wood stove and have never tiled before. :)

Hi Mark, love your videos...but I cant find a video where you cover floor tile grouting. would this shower grouting video be the same as doing floor tile grouting? thanks :)

@me373 Yes, simply mix up the grout per the manufacturer's recommendations. Then work it into the tile at a 45 degree angle to the joints using a rubber float. Once you've covered about 10 square feet of tile wipe down the top surface of the tile with a damp sponge. You will need a bucket close by filled with clean cool water, as you will need to rinse the sponge every few sweeps of the sponge.

great video! i had seen a video where they just grout certain areas at a time and say not to do the whole area at once, so wondering if it really makes a big difference since it seems to take a while for the grout to completely dry ?

@sporattik I often grout one wall at a time so that if I need to call it a day I can.

It prevents moisture from seeping in between and behind the tile gaps. By preventing the penetration of moisture between and behind the tiles it helps to strength the tile area as well as prevent mold and mildew growth. It also makes the tile area look much more finished.
