Bad News Allen should have been the first black world champion. Not that I have anything against Ron Simmons--he was great--I just think Bad News was a one of those many great talents that got buried in Hulk Hogan's shadow.

In 1981. It's one of the most amazing trio combinations ever in pro-wrestling, which is Andre & Stan & Allen. Andre and Stan were in an intensive fued back then in NJPW. I mean two of the three top talents there, including a young Hulk Hogan establishing himself. Actually in the very same year, Andre and Stan did one of the best matches in Japan pro-wrestling ever in a tennis arena. Here's another story. Back then Andre made some racist remarks on the tour bus, which really pissed Allen off.
