I wouldn't ask an animal of that size if it can get any closer.

I don't know who you are, dicarriere, but I just finished watching your humpback vid here for the 5th time. The whiskers on her! She seemed almost delicate in her actions. But I love her spy-hopping whiskers the most!

Ooof, wow. That's great footage! I remember when I was with my family and lots of other people in an inflatable boat thing near Vancouver. We were close to whales like these, maybe even humpback but I can't remember. I felt really small and insignificant in comparison. I was a little scared but it was fun. I was more scared, though, when our boat driver went over some waves for fun and I felt like I would be thrown out x3

This is really incredible. It's amazing how close they come to heck us out. I think they love people watching.

Oh My! I thought I trip out was good this weekend...that's amazing!!!

their sheer size is very intimidating but really there is no need to be scared. They are really gentle animals unless it's an orca and you are a seal.

how cool is this? you were meant to be there at that exact moment no doubt about it...question: who is watching who?
absolutely amazing. well done!

You are so lucky!!!! Thankyou for sharing these wonderful pictures of these gentle giants!!!! 5 Stars!!!

Wow. I went whale-watching in Provincetown and we saw some humpbacks, it was great to see but nothing as close-range as that. what an amazing experience...

When I took this video, we were nearing the end of our 3 hour tour. Until then we had seen several porpoises, and some other humpbacks, but they were hundreds of yards away. At most we could see their backs and their spray. On the way back into port, we also saw some seals, but mostly just their heads as they watched us float by.

Cool. great sounds. This is amazing. I have never seen anything like that. I dont mean to be correcting, but the whales are not breaching, they are spyhopping. Spy hopping is when they put their "Faces" if you will, out of the water and look around. If they were breaching, you would have been all wet and probably really really scared. I have some breaching footage. None the less, this is really really cool. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the info! I've modified my description somewhat to capture the "spyhopping" aspect.

Thanks! It was months ago, and I'm still floored by our proximity. Feel free to pass the link on to others!
