In this episode we're still on the subject, God Wants You Rich, and we're looking specifically at Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
The context of this scripture is that the Children of Israel are about to enter into the promised land. Moses describes what a great land it is, a land where they will not lack anything, where they will live in goodly houses and their gold and silver will multiply. He then warns them against thinking that it is through their efforts that they have become rich and as result turn away from God. But that they must remember it is God who has given them this power to become rich.
A few points we should see from this scripture. - God is not against people being rich. He is so not against it that he gives them power to become rich. - God's idea of rich is: no lack, fine houses, gold and silver multiplied. - God gives this power to get rich in order to fulfill the covenant he swore to Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
What I would really like you to see is that this covenant promise is your God given right.
This is wrong....you have completely taken the word out of context. You said you were going to prove from the Bible that "God wants us rich"; so where in the Bible did God actually say that? The scriptures actually says "I have given you the power to get wealth". Wealth here means that as Christians we will have an abundance in resources so you need to differentiate between that and the idea of stockpiling obscene amounts of money in a bank account which is not scriptural.

this man is dangerous and misleading, where your heart is your treasures are too. Those who desire to be rich fall into temptations and traps. Blessed are those who are poor. and not saying that god wants u to be poor, he knows u need money!!! God knows ur needs!!! but seek his kingdom first!!

i asking one Q u not want a money than now u live in the world .
see the bible:
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment: 1 Timothy 6:17
God is giveing wealthy our enjoyment and give to poor

I suppose it takes all sorts to make a world. Having listened carefully and considered all the relevant points I have come to the conclusion that 90% of what he says is 'drivel'

But Jesus did say that it will be difficult for wealthy people to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Using Gods Word to say that Christians should be rich misses Jesus point he made in this verse.
matt 6:19-20
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

My question to you is this. Are you rich? You have a computer tell me how many poor people have computers?Tell me how will you feed the poor if you have no wealth? How will you give someone a place to sleep if you have no wealth to sustain them?God is wealthy and it is through his wealth he sustains us.So why wouldnt he do the same so we can sustain others?
