  • is it HD or DV

  • @2migell IN 1984 there was no HD or DV for consumer recorders

  • I don't know if you, Revup67, recorded this Irving Plaza show, but it was and still is the best Pandoras show on tape. It inspired me to use the most expensive camera I could pay for to record Paula's early band mate Gwynne, during a 1988 Mad Monster Party show at a college. By 1988, the Pandoras were a pretty difficult act to break into, and a guy has to start somewhere.

  • @powergirl901 Hi Yes - I did record this show and several others at Irving Plaza during the early - mid 80s. Hoping someday there may be a documentary or similar in which I can sell the rights to this show and others

  • @powergirl901 ...ever saw professionally done, and this happened twenty years before you could even get a photo made on a computer, much less pass videos to people so easily. There is a documentary done by the early French TV crew following the band that captured the scene at the time--it was about all the screamy bands at the time. This footage certainly deserves to be exploited. Some in the Pandoras camp won't put out ..their videos. Mike Parenti won't share "Stop Pretending" takes- an example

  • @revup67 Well okay, let me say you were a genius for doing the Irving Plaza show. It captured the band at the very beginning of their best line up with good sound and crisp visual details added. It was my inspiration for everything I did later. I worked with a guy documenting the whole, great girlband scene LA from 1986 until 1994 or so, when finally grunge took over LA clubs. Irving Plaza was very widely distributed all over the US really early on. It's one of the first things I ever saw.

  • @realgonzo1 Yes to all that. Paula and 2 of the girls did a 1987 radio show entirely for four hours, Karen the drummer was fired while on the air, as Rodney's replacement. I was also at the Paula tribute show at the Teazer on the Sunset Strip, Paula's favorite place/s. Kim's band, the Muffs, did a set, Cherie Currie was there, Vicki Bangle and others. Having Paula alive and well over these last twenty years would have been far better than losing her...I'm telling ya.

  • Hard to believe it's been 20 years since Paula left us.

  • Paula LIVES!

  • I went to this show. The Pandoras totally blew me and my friend away. Became a fan instantly after this show, traveled to see them in Rhode Island, then Boston next nights from this tour. Paula was just incredibly talented musician and a beautiful person, I met all the Pandoras at the Rhode Island show, she will always be missed, by real music fans everywhere. KROG rodney had a whole show dedicated to her, and there was a tribute show in LA dedicated to her.

    God Bless Paula YOU ROCK
