@jemroper Yes, I do. I've got thal major since I was born (i.e. for 33 years now). However, I was lucky enough to get good treatment and chelation, so managed to live a normal life, with no serious implications. I know this is not the case for everyone out there though. It CAN be fatal, yes. But if the right treatment is provided in time, you CAN live a normal life.

@roulito78 Do you have thalassemia major? I guess not, when it's major you don't have the same lifestyle. You get tired really easy, and you have heart problems and breathing problems. Low thalassemia is almost unnoticeable.

I'm Living in Nawabshah , There 450 registered Children in Thalassaemia Care Center Nawabshah. They Organized Blood Camps in whole and Interior Sindh too.

There are but I guess there is too little being done about it. In fact most people are not aware of the disorder. You need to be in the shoes of the Thalassaemia patient who does not have money and nor does he/sje gt any aid from the Govt Health Authority

Thalassemia major really bites ... I have thalassemia minor ... & especially because I am 6 ft. tall ... I can not work a full day without a nap & I am 25 years old ...

There is thalassemia minor and it is this/these children can live a somewhat normal life...then again they are not getting old either....this is when it gets bad...the body changes all the time.
Its the Major that is full blown anemic

it is always hard to see movies about thals .. as i am one ..
am 27 years and a teacher... always tried to act as am a normal in class or in work.. tried hard to live as there is nothing wrong there..
