I think if the government would get their heads out of their asses and legalize marijuana, crime rates would drop, and less money would be spent on border patrol, not to mention the rize in a whole new industry.

The real reason why America illegalized pot was because of the one thing... MONEY!!! The government get's their money from cigarette and alcohol corporations, if pot was legalized, the government would freak out to see that their precious pieces of paper would all of a sudden go away, another reason why is also, it cannot be taxed, people can grow it themselves and sell it. When that happens, the government we'll start to freak out and say "it's bad for you". Reality is, there just greedy.

but keep in mind scarlet fever is curable. antibiotics (which entered circulation around the same time as the polio vaccine) drastically reduce the time someone is infectious.
