You have to register the PSP, then you can connect it wirelessly. Otherwise, randoms could connect their PSP and controllers and stuff through your window. XD
My PSP (and other's PSPs) even came with a little cleaning fabric in the retail box (no joke). They should include the same for PS3, because PS3 will need it.

no, if you have the lower version of ps3 you have to plug, if not it is wireless

undone001, your wrong. If you have the 60GB Ps3 then you can use the wifi in the two systems to connect with eachother.

You have to plug it up to the PS3?? So last gen. Wii connects to the DS wirelessly.
