@mesmeridium -i think it wasnt a stretch for him--he was probably a trigger happy hot-head and loved yelling-and probably the writers and exec producers wrote it in that way -like they did for dr smith--he had a free range to almost say anything-youre right-and these days it cant happen as they dont let any character develop well,, like in the 60s/70s comedies-thx for posting a segment of a great actor and show--they dont make em like that anymore-in fact i dont know what they do , these days.

Why did Frank Sutton never win an Emmy??!?!! A modern movie remake of GP would never play this Sgt. Carter character as well as he did!
