October, 2004 - an electromagnetic anomaly causes an explosion in an electricity substation in Epping Forest. Meanwhile, five ordinary people, out for an afternoon stroll, are witness to something that can only be described as supernatural. Is the forest a gateway to another dimension, or have the doors of perception been blown clean off their hinges?
Paul Darrow (Blake's 7, Doctor Who) stars as Doctor Hector Lovelock in this fifteen minute "mocumentary" which asks the question "Where does reality end, and fantasy begin...?"
Starring alongside Paul Darrow are Carole Hayman (Ladies of Letters) as Jennifer Gentle, Tracy Bargate (28 Days Later) as Victoria Topham-Trump, Sangeeta Sabharwal (Zee TV) as Smriti Chand, Tommy Herbert as Stephen Pickford and Milo Connelly as Marlon Mosedale. The Visitation was written and directed by J. J. Guest and produced by Kavita Kapoor who also produced the short film Box.
Note: Though The Visitation was intended as a spoof documentary about the supernatural, actual "flying rods" or "skyfish" can clearly be seen in the close up of Jennifer Gentle in Part Two.
Brilliant! In a kitsch, bad way. Paul Darrow knows how to chew scenery!

It's confusion, utter confusion, sights and sounds that are not of you but are and of you at the same time and of everything. The mind can understand language, you know, so it senses and makes sense of what it can. What do I sound like to a rat? I trained mine to come on command and interacted like a giant rat, and he accepted me as that as we accept things as us.
