How is this practically better than simply wheeling about? It seems slower, it seems extremely dangerous ( could rewalk get you back up again if you fall, which seems likely when you have to stop and hit a forearm button to change actions?)
I think no. Sorry, no technology replaces an existing one unless it is a vast leap up, this doesnt look like it.

There may be truth in what you say but I think even the smallest attempt of being "normal again" means so much for most people that are bound to a wheelchair.
Besides of that, I think that the natural movement of the limbs with this suit has medical benefits as well because the legs bend, stretch and act like normal it might help with decomposition of muscles and the shortening of tendons.

The suit will get alot better as technology increases. He will be hooked up to the internet and running in a few years.

This great!

i agree, although the hope is to fix problems biologically, for now i see no harm in other options giving people the ability to regain walking, it is best not to think of it as likely to fail but be a go between from technology to medical progress. also i could never say technology moves slowly, in 5-6 years these exosuits will have advanced quickly also
this isn't a new kind of HD dvd or blue ray battle, it's just being amazed at what we can do for people.
