He's the most enlightened example in that class known as the 'dumb rock star' (consider it honestly - he belongs in that group), isn't he? But damned if I'm not happy for him in his latter-day vindication. Fuck you, mainstream rock culture elite! Fuck you, AFof$M$! And fuck you, too, fascist rock fans!
The Kinks have had such a huge impact on my life, watching this film was like learning about my own family history. Their music is part of my identity and is the soundtrack to the movie that has been my life. Dave I thank you. While I have shared a beer with you at the Ram's Head and had some crossings, for the most part we have been strangers. However, we are not two, we are one.
So glad your still with us David to share your wonderful life. Julian Temple thank for your great films. Dave I sure hope you continue to make music . Your new homestead is absolutely breath taking. Peace
Kudos to Dave and Julian. Interesting story at beginning of Part 6 about hearing voices in his hotel room after performing at the Scheaffer Beer Music Festival in Central Park, Aug 23, 1972. That was my first Kinks show - went on to see approx 150 Kinks/Ray/Dave shows. Thanks for not listening to those voices Dave.

The Tale of the Kinks told courageously, with honesty, humility and that irrepressible Dave Davies humor.
Not to forget, Julien Temple's immaculate editorial juxtapositions and camera work. Brill.

I hope PBS picks this up. It's certainly worth being seen in the states on tv but I know this will get a thousand views easily on here...
