China flexes maritime muscle - 23 Apr 09

China's growing sea power is on display in the city of Qingdao, to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the country's navy.

Beijing is using the occasion to show off its nuclear-powered submarines for the first time, and send a message to the wider world about its increasing military muscle.

although a lot of tibetans probably dislike chinese rule, the reality is there are already a lot of chinese in tibet and in xinjiang (uyghur land).

If you were to grant these places independence, you would only be replacing one tragedy with another.

also, at some point in time, all modern countries have invaded other peoples to reach their current size (the US, Russia, Britain, etc). If you were to argue China should cede land, where do you draw the line for other countries?

@WarmongerWW3 I am Taiwanese and I can tell you more than 50% of our people favours returning to China. They just say they don't for political reasons. The world is a confusing place ,man. if the Chinese wanted Tibet they would just have taken it. Tibet is using it for political reasons too. And we all know americans who are supposed to be our allies wouldn't sacrifice any men for our freedom.
