I did the EXACT SAME THING in the EXACT SAME SPOT and can still remember the sinking feeling in my stomach while sliding backwards.

What a STUPID place for a tire barrier. Once you see three sets of tracks off the track at the same spot, INSTALL RUN OFF (gravel, NOT GRASS). I don't get it. Tracks depending on trackday guys should make an effort to protect the cars and drivers so they can pay more fees. In my case, I wrecked 3 years ago and haven't been back since. NJMP has same problem.

@Polishsebbe Incorrect. I have driven VIR quite a few times. His mistake is simple. He entered the first corner of the esses way too early. His early apex in the first corner doomed him. It set him up to hit the 2nd turn's apex a good 75 ft EARLIER than the Viper. His line was so far off that he was aiming straight for the grass and was far to the left when he should've been far to the right.

To save the R8, he should've driven straight off and picked up the track 300ft ahead.
