If you installed Nero Update by mistake:

Go to 'ToolBox-- Nero ControlCenter -- Update' Tab
Click the 'Online Options' Tab and de-select the 'Check for updates' box.


To prevent activation you really should add the links below to your "hosts" file.

I would highly recommend it because if you click activate (or someone else using your PC does) then it can't authenticate and detect a pirate serial.

The "hosts" file is located in:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\etc open the "hosts"file using notepad and copy and paste the info below
UNDER your host address 127.0.0.1 This will prevent Nero from connecting for authentication.
