Woman Attempts Suicide After Police Beating

In Beijing, a 30-year-old woman from Liaoning province tried to kill herself after being beaten for petitioning.

Ms. Tian Xiuyan had traveled to Beijing to have her grievances heard. But people from her province assigned to stop petitioners blocked her and beat her up.

On May 20, near the Beijing South Police Station, Tian Xiuyan slit her wrists in protest, and fell bleeding to the street. This mobile phone video footage shows a concerned crowd gathering. They're urging police to get her medical attention, but the police refuse.

After some time, a car arrives carrying agents from the Liaoning Provincial Court. Agents try to take Tian into their custody, and the crowd resists.

Protests happen frequently in Beijing as petitioners are often blocked from appealing to authorities.

@micklfc2008 its true im pretty sure you heard of the google and china dilemma? its really deeper than what the media shows, they say that the Chinese government was hacked by google witch could be true since its an american company but they still have to follow Chinese regulations if they are to still exist in Chinese internet space including hiding things that they are embarrassed to allow and be seen, but the world is going to the shit house anyway so who cares?
