When i backpacked through Cambodia, as depressing as it was at times, i couldn't help but notice there were more smiles than any western world i've been to. I guess when you have little, in where family is worth more than anything else, the expectations in life aren't as high as the western world. I noticed this all through SE Asia, a big eye opener because theoretically...they are richer than us.

Go backpacking there and see how you like have limbless kids comes up to you begging for money. Have a look at the killing fields or the S-21 torture camp of Pol Pot, the same man the yanky government kindly supported.
