You are right about the gorgeousness of the blend when Lorca is a mezzo...but we did not have the singer with the proper vocal color for this production, so the composer authorized a baritone...Not unlike Handel operas!

It was a mistake to cast Lorca as a man! The voices are supposed to melt together in that scene. Besides that the singing is good.
