Because the box will have to be used for pizza delivery anyway. But instead of using paper plates to eat from, or the energy of a dishwasher to clean plates, or even wasting water to wash plates by hand, you're using something that has to exist anyway. Same with the clever bottom part, too - if you have leftovers, no wasting of plastic film, foil, or whatever you would use...

I've never cooked a pizza and put half of it in the fridge, you cook or order enough to eat at once.

It is a "green" or environmentally conscious product because it saves individuals from buying plates (paper or styrofoam) and plastic bags/containers for storage and the subsequent waste that results from the purchase of those materials. It's a rather simple observation that many of you seem to ignore.

how is that "green" if the box is still going to be thrown away soon anyways? just in different pieces.

cute idea. but once the pieces are separated will the 'average' person bother to recycle each part?

So...you can order a pizza in a regular recycled pizza box and throw it out all in one piece OR you can get your pizza in the Green Box and throw it out a small section at a time.
