Ecovention, LLC is a design, licensing firm and manufacturing firm dedicated to improving outmoded, outdated and wasteful food packaging. Ecovention, LLC is marketing its first product, the GreenBox (US Patent 7,051,919), a pizza box manufactured from 100% recycled material. The top of the GreenBox breaks down into convenient serving plates, eliminating the need for disposable plates. The bottom of the 'GreenBox' converts easily into a handy storage container, eliminating the need for plastic wrap, tin foil or plastic bags. The perforations and scores that create this functionality allow for easy disposal into a standard-sized recycling bin. Made from a standard pizza blank, the GreenBox requires no additional material or major redesign and can therefore be produced at no additional manufacturing cost. Ecovention, LLC owns the utility patent on the GreenBox.

  • Clever. I think pizza companies should look into this concept. I just posted it on Domino's and Pizza Hut's FB walls.

  • Recycle pizza, eat box.

  • but what if the people only eat 3 pieces, ha

  • Cool idea especially when nobody wants to do dishes or even put them in the dishwasher lol. It would be great if pizza companies used this idea

  • Since it's so simply, handy and actually not a constraint but an improvement for people i don't see why this shouldn't be THE pizza box everywhere in the world by law. ;) no seriously, doesn't mean we saved the world by only using those, but still it's a great idea!

  • The Pizza Hut in my town has actually started using these.

  • Except you can't recycle a pizza box as its been contaminated by grease. Great idea though.

  • Very smart, very cool. I'd LOVE to see my favorite places adopt it.

  • Hey! Someone took two pieces! >:C

  • Oh this is nice. I can't wait to see these instead of the current boxes.

  • @Otherjoe1120 Have you ever tried to fit a full pizza box in your fridge, even though it's only half full? Ever notice how it takes up so much space and fits so awkwardly in there? That's the big problem that I see this box fixing.

  • @RoederGaming True, but I think the real function is being able to have a smaller box for leftovers in the fridge. Using the leftover cardboard as a plate is essentially just a bonus. I don't care how "green" the box is or what kind of plates it makes, I just want something half the size of a normal pizza box for my fridge.
