A Year in the Life of an NQT Part 1

Follow Helen Fuller, an NQT at the City Academy, Bristol, through her induction year, in the first programme of a year long study.

A newly qualified English teacher, Helen goes through a busy day, beginning a new module on war and conflict with her top set, Year 9 class.

The lesson proves to be challenging, and Helen uses a meeting with her mentor to get advice on how to deal with behaviour issues.

Later on at home, Helen reflects on her day, juggling teaching with her personal life, and what the she wants from the future.

The programme is the first installment of a three part series documenting a year in the life of an NQT, which will be broadcast over the coming year.
