As far as I know this is a traditional tune from the British Isles, specifically the Britons. I arranged it in 3/4 for the Wedding Music for Lever Harps book (Mel Bay Publications) for those harpers who were having a hard time navigating 5/8.

May I contribute to the interesting debate about the origin. I have it as collected by Cecil Sharp in 'One Hundred English Folksongs' (Ed. CJS, 1916). CJS was generally derisory about composed pieces. It is a very similar tune to that of 'The Seven Virgins'/'Leaves of Life' as collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams (Oxford Book of Carols, no. 43)
I will post my vocal/concertina rendition in due course. It's better on the harp!

Yes, it's written by Kim Robertson. The orginal composition is more powerful than the arrangement from Beth Kolle.

The piece is not written by Kim Robertson. It is a traditional English piece that is far older than Ms. Robertson. She has her own arrangement, however.
