A Tribute to Troy Davis. We may never know if he was guilty, but he the courts certainly should not have sentenced him to death. Our judicial system is not perfect...perhaps the least impaired of its international counterparts. Nevertheless, Troy Davis' death was a "grave miscarriage of justice." Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. It is easy to "look the other way" when your loved ones are not involved. It is easy to want revenge when your loved ones are the victims. But vengeance should NEVER obstruct our search for "justice." Besides, vengeance is not ours...I'll let you finish the sentence. Ultimately, if a fellow citizen mourns, we should mourn...the same is true for Troy's supporters and those sympathizing with the McPhail family. My challenge to everyone...refuse to accept what you see and hear just because someone tells you it's true...find out for yourself...seek the truth. Peace.
