As a follow up to my comment, I was very careful to ot torch anywhere but the heat sink and also made sure I didn't heat it too long, probably about 30 seconds total. I let it cool overnight. When I initially turned it on, it gave me the RRD on the first try, then gave me a 2 light error, but I also hadn't fully assembled it back up yet. I didn't have the fan duct piece back in yet, and once I put that back in, it turned on full green 5 times and I

This totally worked for me! Torched the heat sink, plugged it in the next morning and it turned on 5 times in a row, green lights, after RRD so bad it wouldnt turn on at all! Thanks for a fabulous 'ignorant' solution!

you are a noob. all you need to do is re tighten your screws as if you used the nylon they will shrink over time with the heat. Not only are you scorching your xbox you are banging it around. Could cause a bridged connection. I don't suggest anyone to do this.

thats it!!!! am not a fanboy or anything im just a gamer.... i know the 360 is hell fun and i still wan to buy a new 360 but thats it i can not afford anymore RRODs....PS3 it is!!!!! FUCK YOU MICROSOFT ! :(
