BMV On Local Telivition Programme.

Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya is the only one School in Sri Lanka with a hydro power plant of its own.This story was covered by Local Telivition Channel "ITN" for their one popular Tv show called 'Venasa" on 4th January 2012. Batuwangala evillage utilized inside the Batuwangala Maha Vidyalaya, along with the Practical Action started A hydro power plant project. Batuwangala evillage experiences difficulties to pay for electricity. Mr Rohitha, From Practical Action programme Came to help us. The power plant, generating 850W for batuwangala evillage. Using this power supply ,The computer lab is operating computers by Charging UPSes.

We believe that this will be a sound Experience to the youngsters in the village.They are observing the process of how to generate electricity from the Hydro power.
