Someone found a letter you wrote me, on the radio
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.

Oh, I was so surprised and shocked, and I wondered too
if by change you heard it for yourself
I never told a soul just how I've been feeling about you
but they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh now, now

Don't it kinda strike you sad when you hear our song
things are not the same since we broke up last June
the only thing that I wanna hear is that you love me still
and that you think you'll be comin' home real soon
whoa oh yeah yeah
and it made me feel proud when I heard you say
you couldn't find the words to say it yourself
and now in my heart I know I can say what I really feel
'cause they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio

If you think that love isn't found on the radio
well tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud they said it really loud
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio, radio, radio (fade)

  • @DFoxHope My pleasure... not sure how great I am but Donna surely is. Glad to have helped. Take care. :-)

  • @Rodan9pro Hey Thanks! I truly did want an answer to that age old Question's I asked, so Now I "GET IT" ..yes truly i do! Thank you for taking time to help me on that! Been wondering for YEARS She's Great and so are you !!

  • Donna Summer is a Super Soul LEGEND in her own time~! ♥ Awesome songs are Classic and i never get tired of them!~♥

  • @succulentj she also did a cover of this song <3 RIP

  • @GORBI601 It's unfortunate that people who are filled with HATE like you have no ability to appreciate great music and beauty. Hate and jealousy seem to take over your mind.

  • I always have liked Donna Summer. She never sang a bad song and her songs are always upbeat. Thanks for this post.

  • @DFoxHope I've always thought of it metaphorically. She heard about his feelings for her from people around her, gossip if you will... "On The Radio"... and her "Cake" that someone left out in the rain and that she can't bake again was her love for him. She'll never have that "recipe" again.

  • What does this song mean? ON the Radio? I've loved it for years, but what's it about? And did anyone send Donna a recipe for that Cake she left in the rain?

    Anyone??? Thanks!
