"On the Radio" was composed by Giorgio Moroder, with lyrics by the late Donna Summer, who released it as a single in 1979 on the Casablanca record label.

Someone found a letter you wrote me, on the radio
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.

Oh, I was so surprised and shocked, and I wondered too
if by change you heard it for yourself
I never told a soul just how I've been feeling about you
but they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh now, now

Don't it kinda strike you sad when you hear our song
things are not the same since we broke up last June
the only thing that I wanna hear is that you love me still
and that you think you'll be comin' home real soon
whoa oh yeah yeah
and it made me feel proud when I heard you say
you couldn't find the words to say it yourself
and now in my heart I know I can say what I really feel
'cause they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio

If you think that love isn't found on the radio
well tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud they said it really loud
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio whoa oh oh
on the radio, radio, radio (fade)

What a Tribute to the Queen of Disco, Ms. Donna Summer. This video takes me way back in the day. I was nineteen or twenty years old when I heard Donna Summer for the first time. All I can say was wow! Every single young girl back then wanted to look like Donna to include me. I love this video alot. I play it every day. My prayers goes out to Donna's family. She will truely be missed. Rest in peace Donna.

I wonder why i feel nostalgic every time i hear old/classic songs. I mean i wasn't even born yet when these songs came out. Oh well, i wish i was born few decades earlier so i would also have the chance to enjoy this kind of music during its prime. This is only one of the many things i will forever envy about my parents.

Her first anniversary in heaven brought me here and to this song in particular. Thank God Ms. Summer is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year. Unfortunate that she couldn't enjoy the honor while she lived and having had almost twentyTop 10 Dance hits!

"They said it really loud, they said it on the air, on the radio" Transmiting, Donna is writing our names across the sky. Yes, there is a heaven and it's where she's from!

I was just about to get into radio and was doing some disco's for a guy in Melbourne. This was one of the great tracks I was playing at the time. Brilliant.....

What I wish people would understand is that she wanted to be known more than as the queen of disco. She was a deep, thinking woman. To simply spout her off as a notable figure in a flash-in-the-pan music fad is to deny her the real recognition of Who Donna Summer was. What was wonderful was the music and entertainment she provided us. What is sad is that we missed what she was really all about.

This is one of the best songs ever made, funny it was just a "side song" for a greatest's hits compilation. It's probably the best song on that record
