this is one of the great ,yet little known VH classics - Dave's low-growling "pain" stuff is over the top & a welcome break from the ordinary. Long live pre-1985 Van Halen !!!!

this version is amazing , its pretty loose which is great , this,DOA, LIGHT UP THE SKY or BIG TROUBLE wld of been a better fit then LITTLE DREAMER imo , ive also got a differant version of this and BIG TROUBLE???? any ideas on the differant versions?

Demo must be from 76 because VanHalen 1 was released in 78....and it may be the most powerful album released that year by any band. I mean, compared to the disco crap that long since has died, its hard to believe that you are listening to a 34 year old recording......will that album ever run out of legs?

I believe Gene Simmons put them on a tougher angle than Ted Templman did. I mean they were never a joke to listen to, but they made jokes with the music. This version of House of Pain has an awesome romantic approach from the band. Tough and gnarly as can be they are.

I have early Van Halen bar performances as well. The sound quality isnt that good but either respond or thumbs up if you'd be interested in hearing them
