Vending Machine Hijinks Part 1

Suppose you come across a vending machine that has a drink stuck in it. You've been driving around for a while, so you fancy a nice, cold beverage. You look around and do not see the poor individual, who had paid for the drink only to see it get stuck halfway down on its way to the pick-up receptacle (yeah, I don't really know what to call that.)

The question becomes, if you pay for a drink in the same slot as the drink that got stuck, will it have enough force to knock the drink free or will it become stuck as well?
