@MrNativeDancer Well, they created staffordshire bull terriers by mixing the old English bulldog and the bull terrier (probably). They just bred the dogs in the US to be bigger, taller and heavier.

@HedgieDiva My Amstaff is a highly excitable dog, and slim and athletic, etc, but he isn't fully grown yet,so maybe he'll gain more weight and muscles.

@HTTS76 I will get you the correct spelling ok, the APBT is a great dog, do you know why its higher in the leg then the English Staffy, its because of german bloodlines. Look up Colbys Pincher, he was a huge huge american pitbull, from 1894 he had german mastiff and bull wieser and terrier in his lines, look at modern pedigrees of the large pits and they trace right back to him. Some old type English staffs where big but not as big as him! Awesome dog! will try get you some pics if interested?

@HedgieDiva Some people argue that they're the same breeds and that the Amstaff was the show dog and the APBT is the working dog, but I don't know. People call all three breeds pit bulls nowadays.
