After official scorecards were submitted by The Truth or Consequences City Commission for both of the candidates hoping to fill the open seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission, Ron Fenn was nominated for the position by an official legal motion recommended by City Attorney Jaime Rubin. The City Commission then proceed to unanimously vote to approve the appointment of Ron Fenn by a score of 4-0.

Influentilal members of the community proceeded to come to the support of Commissioner Torres as he asked for a Special Meeting. This is the very same Commissioner Torres, who was entirely absorbed in some sort of communication on his laptop computer throughout the process of Ron Fenn's appointment. Somehow Mr. Torres feels that he was disenfranchised by the selection process even though he was the very reason that HE did not offer a vote on Mr. Fenn's confirmation(SEE: Ron Fenn Selection and Appointment )

What is he thinking,.. or is he?

Subsequently, with support from Commissioner Frances Luna (see other clips on this channel) and Commissioner Evelyn Renfro (who was not even present to vote on Ron Fenn's original appointment), the future Planning and Zoning Commissioner was removed before he could even take the official oath of office.

Long live small town democracy!

  • Comm'r Mushmouth wants a do-over so he calls an illegal meeting. And the other Comm'rs go along with it. Pity they missed the class on the Open Meetings Act. Maybe after they pay $500 each, they'll "get it".
