  • @ChocloManx Its in the music to have two different violins. The first one is tuned differently, making the intro sound different than that of the standard tuning.

  • Nice!

  • The first violin isn't tune to the standard GDAE it is G#DAEb Bartok must have wanted the tritones to be played on open strings

  • why does the violinist pick up another violin after the intro?

  • Congratulations! This is perhaps the best version of this piece I have ever heard. You three are so together and make intricate passages sound so effortless that those who never played the piece may think it's not one of the most difficult chamber music works.

  • Definitely agreed about one of the hardest chamber pieces. If you want to witness harder, try the Ligeti Chamber Concerto, Adams Chamber Concerto, Ligeti 10 Pieces for Wind Quintet, and the Bozza Trio for Clarinet, Oboe, and Bassoon.

  • I've played this song. Hardest chamber music I've EVER played on clarinet. Third movement is managable but extremely difficult, the first is beyond description. o_0

That said, this was a great performance; I really enjoyed it.
