My Great Grandma used to play her musics almost everyday and she didn't like English speaking songs or musics because it wasn't her native tongue and she didn't know English... Out of curiousity, one day I asked her why she like Mahalia so musch she said, "She sing with such passion, I don't understand English but the passion in her voice interprets!" May the Sweet Lord bless you Miss Mahalia,... I miss you so much Grandma, Aloha vau ia oe Makua'hine O Hawai'i nei...

The repeatedly asked her sing other styles of music but she said, "No my voice is to sing to my Lord"

I love that about her while others moved to rhythm and blues or what is not oldie but goodie she sung for the Lord period.

She is what they would call... A God of Woman sold out for the Lord.
