I've seen the movie and the exhibit clearly is in no way an "excuse to show woman naked".

This is nothing like that

The documentary is about the notion of the "Hotentot Venus" an attraction in the 19th century that helped shape the concept of sexuality of Black Women.

The point is to reclaim curvyness of a Black Woman's body from being something shamefull, and appreciate it as good- hence the name "Venus Lives".

The women in this film are clearly comfortable of their bodies...good for them.

Okay, are they really serious here. This is not celebrating black womens beauty. That's just a sugar coated version of exploiting black women more. I dont think Ms. Bartman would be proud if she saw this. They got these women standing on display and on pictures naked..... Just like Sarah was. Your body should be a secret treasure celebrated by you and your spouse, not admired on display like a painting or statue! Just a poor excuse for black women to get naked.
