A ship wrecked in salt water is fair game to any and all.A guy could make thousands in scrap metel if he had a small barge and a couple of cutting torches and a light(5 ton) boom. Cut and hoist,cut and hoist.So easy.I scrapped 5 combines one year with a torch but the price of metal dropped just before i hauled it to the scrap yard in portland oregon.When metal gets to $200 a ton its worth it then.One peice of sheet metal on the side of a ship could weigh 1 ton,,,,easy.

@MoreAverageThanMost Wouldnt it tho.Especially a container ship.Theres new products comming from a foreign country in them.WHo knows what it all could be eccept the shipping company.They actually ship brand new cars in them.Millions in stereo equipment or millions in motorcycles,millions in??? you name it.If you just had some rusty old barge with a 100ft. boom you could lift off one end at a time into the water until you got to the container that you wanted.An lift it onto your barge then boogy.
