what kind of guitar is she playing? It's a gibson, right?
-
@bigkittysmile All I hear is her using D blues as the framework for this. But I'll agree with you that I'm wasting my time.
-
@fenderbender92 this is obviously largely a copy of wes' d-natural blues. much of it is note for note. you're just wasting time on lame comments.
-
@bigkittysmile But this isn't about taste. If Emily Remler was deliberately copying Wes Montgomery, she'd play note for note one of his solos--which she doesn't even do here.
-
@fenderbender92 i'm not shitting on her. that's your view. i just don't like her playing. tastes differ right?
-
@bigkittysmile And so? Music's music. If you're so fond of novelty, wait until the new iPods come out or something. Emily Remler has a voice. Are you going to shit on every author after Shakespeare because they can't 'advance' the English language?
-
@fenderbender92 i must say i don't totally agree. no disrespect to her, but she wasn't one of the greats to me. this just sounds like she's copying wes. lots of people do that on youtube.

Saw her with Coryell..nice playing by both of them. Larry got 'out.'

@bigkittysmile In the grand scheme of things, everyone's bound to copy someone else. But if I can quote Goethe: "The most original authors are not so because they advance what is new, but because they put what they have to say as if it had never been said before." And Ms. Remler does that perfectly here, musically speaking.
Orianthi should watch her play and learn from her

Even if she only could have played everything in Bb, she still was an extremely gifted player. Listen to her records. She deserves a relaxed audition.Every guitar player can learn a lot from her amazing playing. She was and is a reference in jazz guitar, only underrated because she (obviously) was a woman. What stupidity!!
