  • The info is that Fieldair abandoned the project and the four Ford 10 litre automotive engines they'd developed were sold off. Precisely what put the project into the basket so too speak hasn't been fully confirmed but it was possibly to do with availability of 400 hp Lycoming horizontally opposed 8 and later preference of a larger aircraft, the Cresco with a 750hp Pratt and Whitney PT6A turboprop.

  • The engine was sold to a motorsport person. The gearbox is still around. The airframe was converted to walter m601 power due to another a/c being written off and a replacement being needed. This project was not built by Fieldair but by Superair. Superairs was based on a big block ford motorsport engine Fieldairs was a small block chev with twin turbos which never flew. the airframe fieldair used has since bean written off following conversion to walter m601 power. I
