Great Video, 5 Stars!

God almighty................listen to that flange squeal.............that must have driven the drivers of these things bonkers when they were in service?

Its a few miles west of Colchester...Has improved a lot since I was last there..Trains only used to go a couple of hundred yards.

The use to look good in the old green and white back in the 1980's. than in red and white for the metro train. use to go on tham from leeds to harrogate

I agree. I used to have many rail trips into West Yorkshire, just to ride on these from 1991after all the 142s and been converted to Voith. I was gutted when the 141s were taken out of service in the mid 1990s.

I know the cummings units were more reliable but that Leyland sounds fantastic!!! coupled to a SCG, music to my ears. Reminds me of the days when I lived next to the Harrogate line in Yorkshire. These would roll by from leeds, all the way to York. The only thing that sounded better than the Leylands were the odd Deltic or Class 37. When you live within 50 feet of a railway line and one of those rolls by, it sounds like the world is coming to an end lol. Thanks for the vid.
Just wondering is this preserved, cause I didn't think that they kept any of these.

At the beginning of the film was it meant to stop at the station, or did it skate through it ? They did on British Rail, we nicknamed them Torvil & Deans....
