The Babys were a popular British rock group of the late 1970s.

Luckily I received message from Mike Corby
Please read this valuable message

I wear your ring was the 3rd song John and I ever learned to play together. It was in 1974.
Tony was paid as a session musician on the track that you are listening to. He was not 'in' the band at the time and was actually in a band called Strider at the time.John was paid wages and had no other contract, either with Adrian Millar or myself.

John did not like the track and did not wish to keep it in our 'set'.I actually did like it and was disappointed by his decision as I had put a fair bit of work into the guitar part at the time. So, we never played this song live and by the time Walt joined the band the song was completely dead and gone.

I was not happy with my solo on this tack as some of the vibratos were a little odd, to say the least. If I had had just another half an hour I would have corrected them but funnily enough people like listening to it, as indeed I now do, myself.

MC

  • I got the "Official Unofficial Babys Album" from a very cool dude at the Devonshire Hotel in Brighton in 1981 or 1982 who found a number of copies with his friends at a record store in Thornbury a suburb of Melbourne Australia. I made a recording of it and handed it back to him the next week. He loved the music of The Babys but was a bigger fan of Rush.

He was a man who valued his music, his car stereo was worth more than his car if I remember correctly and he was very proud of that.

  • really good tune.

  • Thanks for posting this. Good stuff indeed.

  • Mighty awesome stuff for a "demo." =D
