So, I noticed in the brief clip of your home electronics stack, your VCR was flashing the time. If David Pogue's VCR flashes the time, what chance do mere mortals have?!
And yikes: MONTHS after this was posted on YouTube, and 36 hours after it was mentioned in the popular NYT column, it only has 4500 views. What chance do mere mortals have of a video going viral?!
Loved your Why we shoot reply. I feel the same way. I have 29 years of video of my three children and am archiving them to a hard drive (yes, and backing it up) - you convinced me that there is little to be gained in putting them on DVDs at this point. It sure is fun to watch them, even if it's just me in the room.
I agree with you Dave. Before you know it that little guy is in kindergarten, or middle school, or driving, or going to college and you will be able to pop this little video up and recall the golden years of parenthood- that is why we shoot.
Creo que su corresponsal de "Why we shoot home videos" tiene razón. Aunque es muy excitante editar y crear estos videos familiares, generalmente quedan en la pila del baúl de los recuerdos después de haberlos visto la primera vez...and that's why you shouldn't worry that much about the lack of the 400 firewire in the new Macs :)
Is this the one who knows not to put magnets near electronics? :)

ROTFL.
You're right, David, well edited a home movie can be fun.

Extreme baby, indeed. You've had your hands full with this one. Has he calmed down yet? Yikes.
I enjoyed the clips. Nicely done.

I liked the article "Why We Shoot Home Videos" (NYTimes). It was really deep... =D
