with your legs up like that it forces your lower back to be flat on the bench and forces you to only use the muscles intended for the lift. It actually reduces the chance of injury. But I'm sure an NBA vet like DS and his trainers know nothing about exercising huh.....
@freakoutguitarsolo1 doing that strengthens the core and focuses mainly on the chest to develop purely upper body strength. As long as the technique is good then he's fine
that's not a smart way to do bench presses just put the ball down for a second and plant feet on floor, i dont' care who you are you can seriously injure yourself that way.
