The Battle of Takur Ghar was a short but intense military engagement between United States special operations forces and Taliban insurgents fought in March 2002, atop Takur Ghar mountain, Afghanistan. For the U.S. side, the battle proved the deadliest entanglement of Operation Anaconda, an effort early in the war in Afghanistan to rout Taliban forces from the Shahi-Kot Valley and Arma Mountains. The battle saw three helicopter landings by the U.S. on the mountain top, each greeted by direct assault from Taliban forces. Although Takur Ghar was eventually taken, eight U.S. soldiers were killed and many wounded. In honour of the first casualty of the battle, Neil C. Roberts, the battle is also known as the Battle of Roberts Ridge.

I can't believe that Major General Frank Hagenbeck called the Battle of Takur Ghar a success. All high-level U.S. commanders were incompetent. Lieutenant Colonel Blaber has not done sufficient reconnaissance before the battle, and has not sent enough troops to the battle. The Australian SAS soldiers performed much better. They infiltrated the mountain range prior to the first helicopter crash, remained undetected, and provided critical reconnaissance info for the American troops.

Why in the fuck would they send a helo into an already hot LZ? Fucking stupidity. This is one of the reasons i got the fuck out. I would be god damned to let these dumb motherfuckers end my life because they can not learn from their fuck ups. They should have given Roberts unlimited air winged usage so he could call in fire missions. RLTW
