Every country has infrastructure....

things like law enforcement, plumbing and roads....services that don't turn a profit on their own...

but that make it possible for people and businesses to succeed

The United States is the only wealthy country that doesn't treat health insurance like infrastructure....

and that puts our country and businesses big and small at a disadvantage competing with the rest of the word....

A healthy economy needs healthy citizens and the The Public Option for heath insurance is a great start.

  • health care should never in any way be for profit.

  • However prosperous our economy is, its prosperity is no use to those who live in alleys or turn to food pantries to feed their children, or can't get the health care they need.

  • you presented a pair of false dichotomies then. in addition, you're equating money to prosperity.

  • I don't recall saying that. The point I was making is that the co-relation that he was putting forth between public health care and economic prosperity contradicts the facts.

  • so if i'm understanding you correctly, money is more important than health?

  • Except that until recently the American economy has been considered one of the strongest in the world on so many different levels. Second only to the apparently always rising China which has a huge amount of poor people living in unhealthy conditions. And America did it without the public option.

You're going to need a better argument if you expect to win.

  • They have been working on this for over 60 years.. always the same excuses.. the cost.. the longer we wait the worse it gets and the more expensive it gets.. why not just do it and be done with it? If not now then when?

  • What a great video.
