Agreed. Tyson hit too hard and was too fast for Joe. Joe did his best work against boxers like Ali, Quarry and Mathis. His style was tailor made for punchers like Tyson and George.

Prez, you and I see this match exactly the same way. Like you said, Tyson started fast and weakened as the fight lasted, while Frazier started slowly and got better as the fight progressed. Frazier had more heart, but that wouldn't have mattered. Tyson was a little bigger, a little quicker and probably had a better chin. The right hand, particularly the right uppercut, would be the show closer in my mental picture of this fight.

@messier991102 Please, this is hughe nonsense. I'd pick Frazier anyday over Tyson in terms of who I like more as a human, but Frazier would have been no match for Tyson. Tyson was way too fast and ferocious for him. Joe basically only had his pressure and left hook. Tyson had it in both hands. This is no contest and probably a TKO in round 1 or 2, because Joe wouldn't give up. If they fought 100 times, Tyson would win a 100 times. But I'd still rank Joe above Tyson for his overal accomplishments

@jdt927851 and the better inside fighter i think he would win, how is tyson gonna keep joe in combo range? the only way tyson wins this is if he gets joe early, but joe fights harder once he is floored. you also have to take the menatality of both fighters in consideration. how is mike gonna feel when he floors joe and joe gets up right away,fighting harder than ever. how well will make take joe body punches?

@jdt927851 from close range. tysons best asset was his combos which he cant throw when joe is that close, he also cant do what foreman did and push him off he doesnt have that type of physical strength. if watch tysons fights he rarely throws punches on the inside, he usually clinches, waits for the ref to separate them, and then try too catch him with something the oppo doesnt see as he was coming in, but once inside he isnt gonna do much. and with joe being aggressive

@jdt927851 i was saying that because if fighters wou couldnt touch frazier jock strap can take mikes punches then joe would. plus think about how many fighters got ko'd out of fear. from a styles stand point mikes only advantage that he is a fast starter. joe would eat mike up on the inside, tyson was poor inside game. most of tysons kos are from back opponents up or he used his speed to counter them as he came in. he cant do either of these if joe is ripping him with body shots
